Jim Gosger, a former Major League Baseball outfielder, is finding unexpected joy as a horse named after him prepares to run in the Preakness Stakes 150. Named by lifelong Mets fan Donna Clarke, the colt “Gosger” earned his spot after winning the Lexington Stakes. Now, from his home in Michigan, the 82-year-old will cheer on his namesake, adding a touching personal story to this year’s Triple Crown series.
