The third day of the Mysore Winter Races 2025 delivered its first dose of afternoon excitement as Race 2 – The Sahyadri Plate Div II unfolded at 02:30 PM on Wednesday, 03 December 2025. Run over 1400 metres for Class IV horses rated 20–45, the contest produced a sharp and composed winning performance from Sira, guided confidently by jockey Darshan N for trainer K. S. Mandanna, stopping the clock at 1:26.045. Owned by Mr M. Eshwer, the filly’s assertive finish added a strong highlight to the Mysore race result 3 December, setting the tone for the mid-card battles ahead.

Breaking smoothly and settling into a handy position behind the early pace, Sira travelled comfortably through the backstretch. Darshan N timed his move with precision, angling the winner out approaching the final 300 metres. Once asked to quicken, Sira responded with a decisive turn of foot, reeling in the leaders and stretching ahead with enough authority to keep challengers at bay.

Natural Speed, ridden by Ankit Pal and trained by Mansoor Khan, produced a spirited chase to finish second in 1:26.116, falling short by a narrow margin after staying within striking distance throughout. Nozomi, partnered by K. Mukesh Kumar for trainer Suraj Prasad Shaw, closed out the trifecta with a timing of 1:26.196, maintaining pressure but unable to match the top pair in the final strides.

With The Sahyadri Plate Div II wrapped up, the afternoon action now shifts toward The Fame And Glory Plate, slated for 03:00 PM, promising another competitive clash in the evolving Mysore Winter season.
