In a disappointment for racing fans, the Madras Races September 6 Cancellation was confirmed by the Madras Race Club (MRC), which announced that the Second Day of the 2025–26 season, scheduled for Saturday, 6th September 2025, will not take place.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, 3rd September on its website, the club stated: “Due to paucity of accepters, the Stewards of the Madras Race Club have decided to cancel the second day of Madras Races to be held on Saturday, 6th September 2025.”
The decision halts momentum after a lively opening day of the Madras Racing Season, held on 30th August 2025 under sunny skies and good going. That first meeting produced competitive fields and spirited finishes across six races, keeping the Guindy crowd entertained.
Focus Turns Beyond the Madras Races September 6 Cancellation
With the 6th September fixture cancelled, attention now shifts to the third day of the season on Saturday, 13th September 2025. Stronger acceptances are expected as connections regroup to target Madras’s traditional late-summer programme.
Fans remain eager to return to the Guindy racecourse, with anticipation already building for another afternoon of competitive racing at one of India’s most historic tracks.
While the pause may be brief, excitement for the Madras Races remains undimmed as the 2025–26 season rolls forward.
