Racing and Halloween Fun Combine at Aintree Family Day

Aintree Racecourse Halloween Family Fun Day with Little Lights Liverpool

Aintree Racecourse will welcome families on Sunday, October 25, for its Halloween Family Fun Day, with Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice named as the event’s charity partner.

Aintree Halloween Family Fun Day will combine an afternoon of seven races with Halloween-themed entertainment and activities for children and adults, while giving the Liverpool-based charity an opportunity to raise awareness of its work with babies and families.

Little Lights Liverpool provides specialist palliative, respite and end-of-life care for babies and children with complex and serious medical conditions. Its support also extends to parents, siblings and wider family members during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

The charity, formerly known as Liverpool Zoe’s Place, was saved from closure following a major community campaign in October 2024. It is now preparing for its next chapter, with a new state-of-the-art hospice at Hayman’s Green in West Derby scheduled to open in March 2027.

The partnership brings together two organisations with strong links to the Liverpool community. Aintree, best known as the home of the Randox Grand National, will provide the setting for an afternoon aimed firmly at families as the new Jump season gets under way.

The seven-race programme will run alongside a range of activities around the racecourse. Children can take part in craft sessions and face painting, while fans of KPop Demon Hunters will have the chance to see a Huntrix tribute act.

All Halloween activities will be included with admission, while under-18s accompanied by a ticketed adult will be admitted free to the racing.

For Little Lights, the occasion will be about more than a day at the racecourse. The partnership will help introduce the hospice to a wider audience and highlight the specialist care available to babies, children and their families across the Liverpool region.

The charity is also entering an important period of development as preparations continue for the opening of its new West Derby hospice. The move is expected to provide a permanent home for its specialist services and support its plans for the years ahead.

The event will take place at Aintree Racecourse on Sunday, October 25, offering families an opportunity to enjoy racing and Halloween entertainment while supporting a charity with deep roots in the local community.
