The sixth race of the Monsoon Meeting at Royal Calcutta Turf Club on Sunday, 28th September 2025, saw THE MOUNTAIN LILY HANDICAP (Class III, 1400m) deliver thrilling action. ZURI (5Y B M), owned by Mr & Mrs Farouq K Rattonsey, Mr Sameer F Rattonsey & Mr Zaheer F Rattonsey rep M/s Hyperion Bloodstock Pvt Ltd, and Mrs Rina Mahindra & Mr Marthand Singh Mahindra, produced a commanding performance under jockey P. Trevor, stopping the clock at 1:25.617 to take a decisive victory.

From the start, ZURI settled beautifully behind the early leaders, conserving energy before unleashing a powerful turn of foot in the final 300 metres. Guided expertly by P. Trevor, the five-year-old surged past the field with authority, demonstrating both stamina and timing to claim the win in style.

Runner-up honours went to MYSTICAL DAWN (3Y B F) ridden by Akshay Kumar and trained by L V R Deshmukh, who finished strongly in 1:26.049 after pressing the pace throughout. NATURAL GRACE (4Y B F), under Neeraj Rawal for trainer Neil Darashah, closed well to take third in 1:26.356, ensuring the top three were separated by narrow margins.

With THE MOUNTAIN LILY HANDICAP concluded, attention now shifts to the upcoming seventh race THE FREE ENERGY HANDICAP at 03:00 PM, where racing enthusiasts await more intense action at the Monsoon Meeting.
