Pune Races: Yuletide claims The Ismail Khan Plate

Racing action continued with the running of The Ismail Khan Plate, a 1400-meter handicap for Indian horses aged four years and above at Pune Racecourse. Carrying a purse of ₹5,00,000, the race saw a determined field battle it out under yielding conditions.

Coming out on top was Yuletide, trained by Narendra Lagad and piloted by A. Prakash, who produced a well-timed run to win the contest in 1:29.257. The winner, racing in the colors of a prominent ownership group including Mr Akhtar Adamji Peerbhoy, Mrs Shahnaz A. Peerbhoy, Mr Jehangoo M. Nazir, Mr Kishore M. Dingra, Mr Harisharan Devgan rep. Niche Agriculture & Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mr G. Shewakramani, Mr Waahiid Ali Khan rep. Sshaawn Horses and Sports Pvt Ltd & Mr Homi Dara Doctor, proved too strong in the final meters.

Bohemian Rhapsody, trained by Hosidar Daji and partnered by Aditya Waydande, finished a gallant second in 1:30.004, showing promise throughout the straight but unable to match Yuletide’s surge.

The third spot went to Red Dust, trained by Faisal A. Abbas and ridden by A. Sandesh, who closed out the top three with a time of 1:30.337.
