Worcester Racecourse will stage a seven-race National Hunt programme on Friday, September 25, 2026, with the Worcester seven-race card set to run from 12:55pm to 4:25pm. The afternoon will feature a mixture of steeplechases and hurdle contests, with races scheduled over distances ranging from two miles to two miles and seven furlongs.
The opening race will take place at 12:55pm and will be a Class 5 handicap steeplechase over 2m 110y for horses aged four and above. The contest will provide an early jumping test before the programme moves into a longer-distance event at 1:30pm. The second race will be a Class 3 novices’ limited handicap steeplechase over 2m 7f, also for four-year-olds and older horses.
The principal chase contest will follow at 2:05pm, with the Class 2 ARC Summer Chase Series Final Handicap Steeplechase scheduled over 2m 4f. The race will carry £50,000 in prize money and will form one of the two major series finals on the afternoon. The field will face a demanding test over fences at the intermediate distance.
Worcester Seven-Race Card Will Include Two Series Finals
The fourth race at 2:40pm will bring another major event to the programme, with the Class 2 Fixed Brush Hurdle Series Final Novices’ Handicap Hurdle scheduled over 2m 4f. The race will be open to three-year-olds and older horses and will carry £70,000 in prize money. Together, the two finals will account for £120,000 of the day’s prize money.
The programme will then continue with a Class 4 maiden hurdle at 3:15pm. The race will be run over 2m 4f and will be open to four-year-olds and older horses. It will provide an opportunity for runners still seeking their first success over hurdles, with jumping accuracy and stamina expected to play an important role over the distance.
At 3:50pm, the sixth race will be a Class 4 handicap hurdle over 2m 7f for four-year-olds and older horses. The longer trip will provide a different test from the two-mile and two-mile-four-furlong contests earlier in the afternoon, placing greater emphasis on stamina and consistency at the obstacles.
The final race will be scheduled for 4:25pm and will be a Class 5 conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle over two miles. The contest will be open to three-year-olds and older horses and will bring the afternoon’s seven-race programme to a close.
The Worcester seven-race card will therefore provide a broad mix of National Hunt competition, with three steeplechases followed by four hurdle races. The programme will cover Class 2, Class 3, Class 4 and Class 5 competition, giving the meeting a varied structure across the afternoon.
The two series finals will provide the main focus of the meeting, while the surrounding races will add further opportunities for horses at different stages of their National Hunt careers. The 2m 7f contests will also give the card a strong staying element, while the shorter races will place greater emphasis on speed and jumping efficiency.
The first race will be scheduled for 12:55pm, with the final contest due at 4:25pm. Worcester Racecourse will therefore provide more than three hours of scheduled National Hunt action on Friday afternoon.
The Worcester seven-race card will feature seven National Hunt contests on September 25, including the ARC Summer Chase Series Final and Fixed Brush Hurdle Series Final.
