A competitive evening of all-weather racing will take place at Wolverhampton on Friday, 13 March, where a nine-race programme will bring together developing three-year-olds and experienced runners across a variety of distances on the Tapeta surface. The meeting will feature novice and handicap contests designed to test both speed and stamina from sprint trips through to staying distances.
The nine-race card will begin at 3:45pm with a restricted novice event over 1m 1f 104y and will progress through a sequence of handicaps across the evening programme. Distances will range from 5f 21y to 1m 6f, with fields of five to eleven runners, creating a balanced schedule of sprint and middle-distance contests for developing performers and experienced campaigners alike.
The opening race, THE JOIN THE MIDNITE MOVEMENT RESTRICTED NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 4), will be run over 1m 1f 104y and will feature six runners aged three to five competing for £10,000. The race will provide lightly raced horses with an opportunity to build experience at novice level on the all-weather track.
At 4:25pm, the programme will move to THE MIDNITE, BUILDING THE FUTURE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) over 1m 6f. Five runners aged four and older will compete for £15,200, with the longer distance expected to favour horses suited to staying trips around Wolverhampton’s Tapeta circuit.
The 5:05pm race, THE CREATE YOUR BUILDERS AT MIDNITE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6), will bring together 11 runners aged four and above over 6f 20y for a purse of £9,000. The sprint distance and larger field are likely to produce a competitive handicap contest.
Next on the card is THE GOLDEN GOALS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) at 5:40pm, run over 5f 21y. The race will feature 11 three-year-olds competing for £7,100, where speed and early positioning will play a decisive role over the sharp sprint trip.
Middle-distance runners will line up in the 6:10pm contest, THE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) over 1m 142y. Seven runners aged four and older will contest the £9,500 prize in a race expected to test both tactical pace and finishing strength.
The 6:40pm race, THE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6), will see nine three-year-olds compete over 1m 1f 104y for £6,000, offering younger runners another opportunity to establish form in handicap company.
The evening programme will conclude with three divisions of THE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) over 7f 36y and £6,000. Division I will take place at 7:10pm, bringing together eight runners aged four and above over the seven-furlong distance. Division II will follow at 7:40pm, again featuring eight runners competing over the same trip, before Division III concludes the meeting at 8:10pm, completing the nine-race schedule at Wolverhampton.
The Wolverhampton Race Cards 13 March on Friday evening will present a balanced nine-race schedule featuring novice and handicap contests across sprint, middle-distance, and staying trips, bringing together developing three-year-olds and experienced all-weather performers on the Tapeta surface.
