Windsor Racecourse staged a competitive seven-race Flat meeting on Monday, 29 June, with the programme featuring novice contests alongside handicaps across a range of distances. The fixture delivered several notable performances, highlighted by Marco Ghiani’s four winning rides and a training double for Tony Carroll, while Rossa Ryan also enjoyed a productive afternoon with two victories.
Opening the afternoon’s programme, the Ronald Fletcher Baker Novice Stakes (Class 3) was won by FRANK STAMPER, who produced a polished display for trainer Tony Carroll under Marco Ghiani. Representing owner Mr Bill Hawkins, the winner completed the contest in 2m 28.52s. TROPBIEN finished second, while HAPINESS claimed third.
Next on the card, the British EBF Novice Stakes (Class 4) went to CAPTAINCY, trained by Clive Cox and ridden by Rossa Ryan for owner Isa Salman Al Khalifa. The winner stopped the clock in 1m 11.86s. NEVER ENOUGH finished second, with DESERT LEGEND taking third place.
Maintaining the momentum, the Sprint Series Handicap Stakes (Class 2) was landed by KING OF LIGHT, who gave Marco Ghiani his second success of the meeting. Trained by Stuart Williams for TJE Racing, the winner recorded 1m 09.24s. COUL ANGEL filled the runner-up position, while BALDOMERO completed the first three.
Attention then turned to the Distro Design Handicap Stakes (Class 6), where SOUTH SHORE continued Marco Ghiani’s excellent afternoon. The Robert Cowell-trained runner, racing for The Legendary Moore Syndicate, completed the minimum-trip contest in 58.55s. DIOMED SPIRIT finished second and KENTO took third.
The middle stages of the meeting featured the Handicap Stakes (Class 3), where TWISTING PHYSICS prevailed for trainer Oliver Cole under Mason Paetel. Running in the colours of Mrs Fitri Hay, the winner recorded 2m 06.08s. SEAGOLAZO finished second, while A TASTE OF GLORY secured third.
Penultimate honours belonged to AIM FOR THE BULL in the Colenko Fast Track Handicap Stakes (Class 6). Rossa Ryan guided the Mike Murphy-trained runner to victory for owner Ms Denise Tibbett in 1m 43.99s. SHOWMEDEMONEY finished second, with AFRICAN SPIRIT taking third.
Bringing the meeting to a close, the concluding Handicap Stakes (Class 5) saw LEQUINTO provide both Marco Ghiani and Tony Carroll with further success. Racing for Mark Wellbelove & Partner, the winner completed the race in 1m 10.66s. AMAZONIAN DREAM finished second, while ROBERT ANSTRUTHER claimed third.
Marco Ghiani dominated the Windsor meeting with four winners, demonstrating consistency across both novice and handicap company. Tony Carroll recorded a valuable training double through Frank Stamper and Lequinto, while Rossa Ryan also enjoyed a successful afternoon with victories aboard Captaincy and Aim For The Bull. The seven-race programme provided competitive racing throughout and showcased a blend of emerging talent and experienced handicappers.
