At Wincanton Racecourse, the fixture scheduled for Monday, 23 March will stage a seven-race programme bringing together a varied mix of hurdle races and steeple chases that will test runners across different distances, conditions, and race types. The card will include a combination of amateur contests, novice events, and handicap races, offering opportunities for a broad range of participants to compete under National Hunt conditions.

Held at Wincanton Racecourse, the meeting will feature fields that range from smaller tactical contests to larger handicaps, with participants drawn from different categories of experience. The programme will include maiden hurdles, novice chases, and handicap events, ensuring a balanced and competitive sequence of races throughout the afternoon.

Kicking off the programme, the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Military Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 4) will be run at 2:15pm over 1m 7f 50y, with prize money of £8,750. Five runners will line up in this opening contest, where accuracy at the hurdles and controlled pacing will be essential.

Following on from the opener, the Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 4) is scheduled at 2:45pm. Run over 3m 150y with prize money of £9,999, this race will attract ten runners and will place a strong emphasis on stamina, particularly in the later stages of the extended trip.

At the midpoint of the card, the Welcome Back to Racing Caroline Novices’ Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) (GBB Race) will be staged at 3:47pm over 1m 7f 149y, with prize money of £9,750. Four runners will contest this novice chase, where jumping precision and maintaining rhythm over the fences will be critical.

Moving into the longer-distance contests, the WinOlympics Family Day April 12th Mares’ Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) (Challenger Mares’ Chase Series Qualifier) (GBB Race) will be run at 4:22pm over 3m 1f 30y, carrying prize money of £9,750. With four runners declared, this staying chase will require endurance, balance, and effective race positioning.

Approaching the latter part of the meeting, the Jim Morgan and Ronnie Stevens Memorial Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 3) is scheduled at 4:57pm over 2m 3f 179y, with prize money of £17,500. Eight runners will line up in this higher-class handicap, expected to deliver a competitive contest with closely matched runners.

Bringing the fixture to a close, the Golf Membership Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 5) will be run at 5:32pm over 2m 3f 179y, offering prize money of £7,500. Twelve runners will take part in this final race, rounding off the day’s action with another competitive handicap hurdle.
