Chris Waller’s influence surfaced early in the afternoon through Race 2 – Jacquinot First Yearlings 2026 @ Widden Plate, where Nandina delivered a controlled performance under K McEvoy. The 3-year-old grey-bay filly found her stride at the right moment, crossing the line in 1:09.60. Racing for Ingham Racing (Mgr: Ms L J Ingham), she held off Manukau, while Lipstick stayed on for third.
Timing and balance proved decisive in Race 3 – Ole Kirk Yearlings Handicap. Ellipsis, a 4-year-old chestnut mare trained by Bjorn Baker, responded sharply to T Berry’s ride and finished strongly in 1:09.29.
