The second race of the day at Bangalore Turf Club’s Summer Meeting (Day 14) brought forward a compelling contest as VICTORIA CROSS secured a maiden victory in the Littleover Plate, a 1200-meter terms race exclusively for three-year-old maidens. With a prize purse of ₹11,00,000 on offer, the race was flagged off at 2:00 PM and witnessed a thrilling finish between the front-runners.
Trained by Neil Darashah and guided with precision by Neeraj Rawal, Victoria Cross surged forward in the final meters, holding off a strong late challenge to win in 1:14.52. Owned by Ms. Ameeta Mehra, Victoria Cross displayed professionalism and strong racing instincts to open the account in impressive fashion.
Hot on the leader’s heels was KONKRAH, ridden by A. Sandesh and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, who clocked 1:14.62, just a fraction behind. Konkrah ran an encouraging race and appears poised for future success.
Completing the top three was BLUE STORM, piloted by Arvind Kumar N for trainer Irfan Ghatala, finishing in 1:15.19. The runner stayed on well, showing signs of development with this performance.
