The penultimate race on day 19 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting was the Karnataka Police Cup, a testing 1800-metre handicap for horses rated 60 to 85. Scheduled at 4:15 pm, the contest offered a total purse of ₹7,00,000 and brought together a strong field at the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC).

Victor Hugo delivered a resolute finish to claim the race under Vivek G., trained by Irfan Ghatala. Timing his charge with precision, the runner crossed the post first in 1:58.32, securing a well-earned victory for owner Mr. Ananda C.

Secret Saint, partnered by P. Trevor and trained by Bharath Singh, put in a determined performance to take second place in 2:00.84, keeping the winner honest throughout the home stretch.

Forseti completed the top three in 2:01.04, guided by A. Ramu for trainer Imtiaz Khan, rounding off a competitive edition of the Karnataka Police Cup.

As the penultimate race wrapped up, attention was expected to turn to the day’s concluding event, the Azhar Plate. However due to unsuitable underfoot conditions, the stewards of BTC, decided to postpone the Azhar Plate to tomorrow (20th July). It will now be held at 1:30 pm as the first race of the day on Sunday.
