Valkenswaard is set to become the epicentre of elite show jumping action as the Longines Tops International Arena reopens its gates for the first time this season, hosting the much-anticipated Summer Classic from July 11 to 13, 2025. The event will see 47 elite riders and 85 high-performance horses compete across a dynamic weekend packed with talent, excitement, and global representation.

This edition of the Summer Classic brings a fresh twist with the inaugural European appearance of the Baran Global Hunter Classic. The debut of this uniquely American discipline adds a new dimension to the competition, giving European audiences a rare opportunity to experience the beauty and rhythm of the Hunter sport.

Home advantage will be key for the Dutch riders, who are ready to shine in front of an enthusiastic local crowd. Names like Olympic medalist Maikel van der Vleuten, Harrie Smolders, Jur Vrieling, and the van Asten brothers — Leopold and Mathijs — are among the strongest contenders, bringing both experience and form to the fore.

Germany will field some of its finest equestrian athletes, including Christian Ahlmann, Daniel Deusser, and Philipp Weishaupt. They are joined by young stars Laura Klaphake and Kendra Claricia Brinkop, offering a compelling blend of veteran presence and youthful drive.

The United States will also feature prominently with star riders such as Jessica Springsteen, Natalie Dean, Lillie Keenan, and Vani Khosla. Backed by a strong string of horses, they are expected to challenge across all divisions and bring a fierce competitive edge to the weekend.

French speedster Simon Delestre, fresh off a Grand Prix win in Monaco, arrives in top form and will look to continue his momentum. Meanwhile, Australian veteran Edwina Tops-Alexander adds global prestige, and Luxembourg’s Victor Bettendorf returns after an impressive season, hungry to build on his recent successes.

Youthful promise will be on full display as well. Ireland’s Max Wachman, a frequent face at Valkenswaard, aims to build on his previous performances. Young talents from Mexico and Monaco, including Carlos Hank Guerreiro, Paola Amilibia, and Iñigo Lopez de la Osa Franco, will bring flair and ambition, highlighting the future of the sport.

Spanning several CSI4* classes over the pristine grass arena, the event promises gripping competition, valuable ranking points, and substantial prize money. Beyond the sport, visitors can expect an engaging atmosphere with entertainment for all ages, premium hospitality offerings, and vibrant fan experiences.

Whether you’re a long-time follower or discovering the sport for the first time, the Summer Classic at Longines Tops International Arena offers a premier equestrian showcase that blends thrilling action with elegance, energy, and a welcoming environment for families and fans alike.
