Racing will return to Uttoxeter on Wednesday, 31st December afternoon as the track stages a well-balanced seven-race National Hunt programme ahead of the New Year. Action will be scheduled from 12:43pm to 3:43pm, with the card combining handicap hurdles, novice and open steeple chases, and a concluding mares’ flat race across the Staffordshire circuit.

Uttoxeter Race Cards 31 December will open with The Simply Logistics Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 3) at 12:43pm. Run over 2m 3f 207y, the contest will feature eight runners aged three years and older competing for prize money of £10,700. The race will provide an early measure of established handicap form.

Stamina will come to the fore at 1:13pm in The Feast Streat Great Tasting Food Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 5). Thirteen runners aged four and above are set to line up over 2m 7f 70y, contesting £6,150 in a race expected to place emphasis on endurance and accurate jumping.

The programme will continue at 1:43pm with The Simply Logistics Maiden Hurdle Race (Class 4). Four runners aged four and older are scheduled to compete over the same 2m 7f 70y distance for £7,700, offering a key opportunity for lightly raced performers to progress.

At 2:13pm, the focus will shift to a sharper test in The Malcolm Harrison Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 5). Thirteen runners aged three and above are expected to contest the 1m 7f 168y trip, with £6,150 available in a race likely to suit quicker, fluent jumpers.

Chasing will take centre stage at 2:43pm with The Novices’ Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4). Ten runners aged four and older are due to tackle the 2m 4f course for £8,900, providing a valuable assessment for developing chasers stepping into competitive handicap company.

The staying contest on the card will follow at 3:13pm in The General Sports Worldwide Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 5). Fourteen runners aged four and above are scheduled to face the 3m 10y distance, competing for £6,150 in a race expected to demand stamina and sound jumping.

The afternoon will conclude at 3:43pm with The Mares’ Open Maiden National Hunt Flat Race (Class 5). Twelve runners aged three to five will compete over 1m 7f 168y for £4,500, offering young mares a valuable platform to gain racecourse experience before the New Year begins.
