The third race of the afternoon at Mysore Racecourse’s Monsoon Meeting (12th Day, Thursday, 16 October 2025) saw a polished display of pace and precision as True Punch (J: Antony Raj S., T: M. Rajendra Singh) stormed to victory in The Urs Kar Trophy (Div I) — a Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65, run over 1400 metres at 3:00 PM. Racing in the silks of Mr. Anil Saraf, the gelding clocked a sharp 1:26.740, sealing his win in commanding style.

Breaking evenly from the gates, True Punch settled smartly in mid-division before jockey Antony Raj angled him out approaching the final bend. Showing excellent balance and finishing strength, the pair surged forward in the final furlong to assert clear dominance. Trainer M. Rajendra Singh’s preparation was evident as True Punch maintained momentum under hands-and-heels riding to register a convincing success against seasoned opposition.

Little Minister (J: S. Imran, T: J. Ganesh) gave a spirited chase but had to settle for second, timing 1:27.382, while Sir Calculus (J: L. Alex Rozario, T: J. S. Pillay) stayed on late to claim third in 1:27.666, ensuring an evenly contested finish behind the winner.

With The Urs Kar Trophy Div I concluded, anticipation now builds for the next feature — The H. H. Sri Chamaraja Wadiyar Memorial Cup, slated for 3:30 PM, promising another thrilling chapter in the Mysore Monsoon racing season.
