A well-judged ride by P. Trevor helped TRAKILA capture the Karnataka Sub-Area Cup, the fifth race of Day 14 at the Bangalore Summer Meeting. Run over 1400 meters and open to horses rated 60 to 85, the race carried a total prize allocation of ₹7,00,000 and was flagged off at 3:30 PM.
Trained by Aashay Doctor, Trakila timed the run perfectly to surge ahead in the final furlong, clocking 1:24.80 at the wire. The win was a rewarding one for the large ownership group, including Mr Solomon Benveniste , Mrs Rina Mahindra , Mrs Menaka Gupta & Mr Marthand Singh Mahindra & M/S. Deciding Factor LLP & Mr. Hemang D. Doctor & Mr. Achuthan Siddharth Mr. Viral Doctor.
Runner-up honours went to REGAL REALITY, ridden by Akshay Kumar and trained by S.S. Attaollahi, who finished close behind in 1:25.00. Despite a strong stretch run, Regal Reality fell just short of matching Trakila’s pace at the finish.
Rounding off the top three was VICTORIA DORESAANI, with L. Alex Rozario in the saddle for trainer Irfan Ghatala, who clocked 1:25.50 after staying in contention through the middle stages.
The victory marks another success for P. Trevor, who had earlier piloted Divine Star to victory, and underlines Trakila’s form over the 1400 meters trip. With the feature event of the afternoon, The Chief Minister’s Cup, up next, racing enthusiasts at Bangalore Turf Club have plenty to look forward to.
