The highlight of the Bangalore Summer Meeting- day 14, lived up to its billing as TIME AND TIDE captured the Chief Minister’s Cup, a 1200-meter handicap race for four-year-olds and up. Offering a rich total purse of ₹15,80,000, including ₹9,48,000 to the winner, the race drew a quality field and flagged off at 4:00 PM to a lively crowd.
Ridden with poise by A. Sandesh and trained by Adhiraj Singh Jodha, Time And Tide surged past rivals in the home stretch to win convincingly for owner Bachhawat Farms Pvt. Ltd., represented by Vikram Bachhawat. It was a defining moment in the day’s card, with the winner showcasing top-class sprinting ability and tactical speed by timing at 1:11.57.
In second was MAGILETO, guided by P. Trevor for trainer Aman Altaf Hussain, who ran a solid race but couldn’t reel in the winner when it mattered most and timed at 1:11.86.
CROWN DRIVE, partnered by Hindu Singh and trained by B. Suresh, completed the top three in 1:11.92, displaying consistency with a strong effort but lacking the decisive late burst.
The victory by Time And Tide marked a highlight for jockey A. Sandesh and underlined the depth of talent in the sprinter ranks. As the afternoon of exciting racing progressed, attention quickly turned to the next contest—The Tudor Jet Plate—keeping the energy high at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC).
