Thundering Phoenix stole the show with a last-gasp surge to clinch victory in a thrilling photo-finish. Ridden with precision by Antony Raj S. and trained by Adhiraj Singh Jodha, the winner completed the trip in 1:37.00, edging out rivals in the final strides. Hot on his heels was Gordon, partnered by A. A. Vikrant for trainer Rajesh Narredu, who put in a determined run but had to settle for second in 1:37.52.
Elfin Knight, with A. Sandesh aboard for trainer Darius R. Byramji, rounded off the top three, timing 1:37.64 in what turned out to be a blanket finish for the placings.
With favorable track conditions and a roaring crowd in attendance, the D.M. Kumaraswamy Memorial Trophy brought top-class action to the heart of Bangalore racing.
