The Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Memorial Trophy kept the afternoon’s momentum alive at the Pune Racecourse on Sunday. The Class III handicap for Indian horses rated 40 to 66 was contested over 1600 metres and produced a strong finish from The Milenium Force, who secured victory under jockey A. Sandesh for trainer P. S. Chouhan, stopping the clock at 1:38.869.
The winner, owned by Mr. B. Vijeth Bhandari, asserted himself in the final strides to hold off the late challenge of Wind Dancer, ridden by N. Bhosale for trainer Dallas Todywalla, who finished second in 1:40.099. Finch, guided by A. Prakash for trainer Vinesh, filled third place with a time of 1:41.002.
