The second race of Day 4 at the Mysore Summer Races 2025 delivered a sharp and thrilling finish in The Takshashila Plate Div 2, a 1200-meter handicap for horses rated 20 to 45. Run at 2:00 pm with a prize purse of ₹4,50,000, the contest witnessed The Golden Sunrise rise to the occasion in impressive fashion.
Trained by Santosh Rao S and ridden by P. Sai Kumar, The Golden Sunrise surged in 1:13.934, showcasing speed and determination to edge out a strong field. Owned by Mr. Girish Byrappa, the horse’s victory added to a promising day for the connection.
Finishing a close second was D Lord, piloted by Shamaz Shareef and trained by Bipin V Salvi, who pushed the winner to the limit but fell short by a nose, stopping the clock at 1:14.477. Just behind, Code of Honour, ridden by Dhanu Singh Deora for trainer Bobby M, put in a game effort to claim third, finishing in 1:14.482, 1¾ lengths off the runner-up.
The tight margins between the top trio underlined the competitiveness of the field. The race added a second success on the day for the Santosh Rao S – P. Sai Kumar combination, following their earlier win in the Kaginele Plate.
With momentum now building, the day’s action continues with The Somwarpet Plate Div 2, as eyes begin to shift toward the feature race, The Sutlej Plate, scheduled for later in the afternoon.
