The Flutist Wraps Up Pune Meeting Day 2 with Victory in Zephyr Bay Plate

The Flutist closed out the day’s card at Pune Racecourse on a winning note, taking command of the Zephyr Bay Plate, a 1600-metre handicap reserved for Indian horses aged four years and above. With A. Prakash confidently guiding the gelding for veteran trainer Himmat Singh, the duo clocked 1:42.569 to claim the winner’s purse in the final race on August 2nd, 2025.

The winner is owned by Mr Himmat Singh, and the gelding’s steady progression through the field in the final furlong left little room for the others to respond.

The runner-up spot went to Ma Cherie, trained by Sangramsinh N. Joshi and ridden by S. G. Prasad, who finished with a time of 1:43.426, while the ever-consistent Continental Drift, representing trainer Nirad Karanjawala and ridden by Santosh G., rounded off the top three in 1:43.538.

With the conclusion of this race, the curtain falls on an action-packed race day at Pune. Racing resumes on August 3rd, 2025, promising another exciting afternoon at the turf.
