The Mysore Summer Races 2025 resumed for Day 4 on Wednesday, June 18 at the picturesque Mysore Race Club. The day’s curtain-raiser, The Kaginele Plate, a 1600-meter handicap for horses rated 00 to 25, set the tone for the afternoon. Carrying a purse of ₹3,75,000, it got underway at 1:30 pm and saw a confident performance from The Angel Power, who sealed the win in a timing of 1:41.228.
Trained by Santosh Rao S and partnered by jockey P. Sai Kumar, The Angel Power broke away from the pack with a strong turn of foot in the final stages to land the opener in style. This impressive win not only marked a confident start for connection Mr. Hitesh B.S but also drew early cheers from the on-course audience.
Vandan, handled capably by S.G. Prasad and trained by Mansoor Khan, stayed in close pursuit but had to settle for second, clocking 1:42.158. Finishing third was Dhurandar, guided by P.P. Dhebe for trainer Rakesh, who crossed the line in 1:42.361.
With the day’s opening act complete, attention now turns to the next race on the card—The Takshashila Plate Div II, which promises further excitement. Meanwhile, the featured event of the afternoon, The Sutlej Plate at 4:30 pm, is expected to be the day’s showstopper, offering a winners cheque of ₹7,00,000.
