Stunningly Perfect Victorian Queen Stakes success came at Woodbine on Sunday, September 13, 2026, as the Ontario-bred filly produced a strong late run to capture the $150,000 Victorian Queen Stakes for two-year-old fillies. The victory marked her first career stakes success and her second win from only three starts.
Trained by Steven Chircop and ridden by Jose Campos, Stunningly Perfect overcame an awkward beginning from post six before settling into the race. She remained within striking distance through the early stages and produced her decisive move in the closing section to win by 1½ lengths in 1:17.81 over 6½ furlongs on the main track.
Stunningly Perfect Victorian Queen Stakes Victory
The seven-horse field encountered an unusual development shortly after the start when Sarayu unseated rider Pietro Moran after leaving the chute. The loose horse moved ahead of the field, while Moran walked away without injury.
Awesome Grace established the early pace, covering the opening quarter-mile in 22.55 seconds. Champagne Sunday raced in second, with Stunningly Perfect settled in third and Whitemudwest following in fourth.
The order remained unchanged through the half-mile, which was completed in 45.50 seconds. Stunningly Perfect continued to travel comfortably before Campos began to improve her position approaching the final stages.
With a furlong and a half remaining, Campos angled Stunningly Perfect away from the rail. The filly responded immediately, moving past Champagne Sunday and Princess Orlaith, who had produced a strong run along the inside.
Stunningly Perfect then continued her forward momentum and pulled clear in the closing stages. She crossed the finish line 1½ lengths in front to secure the biggest victory of her young career.
Princess Orlaith finished second, while Tweeternity took third. Champagne Sunday completed the first four, and Awesome Grace finished sixth.
The Victorian Queen Stakes victory followed an impressive performance on August 23, when Stunningly Perfect won a six-furlong maiden optional claiming race by 7½ lengths under Emma-Jayne Wilson.
That result came after a narrow debut defeat. On her first appearance, Stunningly Perfect finished only half a length behind Awesome Grace, who was trained by Chircop. The trainer subsequently took charge of Stunningly Perfect before her second career start and quickly saw the filly take a significant step forward.
The connection between the two fillies added an interesting element to Sunday’s result. Chircop saddled both Stunningly Perfect and Awesome Grace for the Victorian Queen Stakes, with Stunningly Perfect producing the stronger performance to claim the feature race.
Bred in Ontario by Charles Fipke, Stunningly Perfect raced for Zilli Racing Stables. Her record after three starts now stood at two victories, with her latest performance adding a stakes success to an already promising early campaign.
Her progression had been notable in a short period. After a narrow defeat on debut, she produced a wide-margin victory in her second start before stepping into stakes company and handling the challenge with authority.
The victory also carried personal significance for Chircop and his stable. Stunningly Perfect had been cared for by longtime groom and friend Dean Hardman, who had recently passed away.
Hardman’s association with the filly made the winner’s circle presentation particularly meaningful for Chircop. The trainer had taken over her preparation only shortly before her breakthrough second start and subsequently guided her to another important victory at Woodbine.
On the track, Stunningly Perfect had answered every challenge placed before her. She recovered from an untidy start, maintained her position behind the early leaders and then produced the strongest finish when the race entered its decisive phase.
Campos also recorded an important first association with the filly. Riding Stunningly Perfect for the first time, he judged the timing of her move well and guided her through the final stages before she drew clear.
The Victorian Queen Stakes therefore provided a significant milestone for Stunningly Perfect, whose career had already shown steady improvement through her first three starts. Her latest performance added a stakes victory to that progression and established her as a notable Ontario-sired two-year-old filly to follow through the remainder of the season.
