The tenth day of the Bangalore Summer Meeting opened in style as STAR OF INDIA clinched a convincing win in The Malenahalli Plate, a 1400-meter handicap event for horses rated 00 to 25. The race marked the first of seven on the day’s card at the Bangalore Turf Club and offered a total prize purse of ₹4,50,000, with the winner’s share set at ₹2,25,000.
Ridden by Neeraj Rawal and Trained by S Padmanabhan, STAR OF INDIA delivered a fluent performance, taking command in the final stretch and stopping the clock at 1:28.21. The horse showed good early positioning and maintained composure through the bend before accelerating away from the field inside the last furlong.

RECREATOR, ridden by Koshi Kumar and trained by V Lokanath, finished a commendable second with a time of 1:29.39. Despite staying close to the leader for most of the run, RECREATOR could not match the winner’s turn of foot in the closing stages.

Completing the frame was EMBOSOM, partnered by V R Jagadeesh also under the trainer V Lokanath, who crossed the line in 1:29.43. Though briefly threatening a late surge, EMBOSOM had to settle for third, narrowly behind the runner-up.

The day’s schedule includes several exciting contests, but all eyes are now on the upcoming Amokbash Million (Div II), a maiden race for three-year-olds. Later in the afternoon, the Benaka Developers Fillies Championship Stakes promises to be the highlight—a Group-caliber test over 1600 meters that is expected to attract top fillies in training.
