The Mysore Summer Meeting 2025 started in style on June 4th, as Star Is Back stamped his authority in the season opener—The Kolar Plate, a handicap for horses rated 20 to 45, run over a 1400-meter trip. The race featured a competitive field, but it was the bay gelding Star Is Back who delivered a standout performance to clinch the top spot.

Trained by Mansoor Khan and ridden with precision by jockey H.M. Akshay, Star Is Back surged ahead in the final stages in 1:27.096 to seize a well-earned victory. The winning connections earned a prize purse of Rs. 2,25,000, half of the total stake of Rs. 4,50,000 allotted for this opening contest.

Finishing second was Aashirvad in 1:27.249 , guided capably by jockey Faiz and trained by veteran Monnappa C D. The gelding showed promise throughout the stretch run but lacked the final kick to topple the winner. Completing the podium was Brocston, trained by Rakesh and ridden by Siddaraju P, who maintained a steady pace to secure the third spot in 1:27.308.

The event drew enthusiastic crowds to the picturesque Mysore Race Club, with The Kolar Plate setting a competitive tone for what promises to be an exciting summer racing season. Though some favorites were outpaced, the mix of young talent and seasoned contenders added intrigue to the day’s opening feature.

Racing fans now turn their attention to the upcoming Nagamangala Plate, with anticipation building for further high-caliber action. Stay tuned as the Mysore Summer Meeting continues to deliver riveting finishes and breakout performances.
