Soldi Extends Undefeated Record with Dominant Inglis Banner Victory at Flemington

Soldi wins the Inglis Banner at Flemington to maintain her unbeaten record

Soldi maintained her unbeaten record with an impressive three-length victory in the $400,000 Listed Inglis Banner at Flemington, securing her second Stakes success from as many career starts.

The Tassort filly followed her narrow success in last month’s Listed Debutant Stakes with a commanding performance, leading throughout the race and proving clearly superior to her rivals down the Flemington straight.

Trained by Ben, Will and JD Hayes at Lindsay Park, Soldi was purchased for $310,000 at this year’s Premier Yearling Sale in partnership with Dean Hawthorne. Offered by her breeder Segenhoe Stud, the filly had already earned back her purchase price after just two starts, while her value as a racing prospect continued to rise.

Soldi defeated Goddess Kay, by Frankel, and She’s Supreme, by Exceedance, to claim the Inglis Banner. Goddess Kay also made a notable impression, finishing second at her first start after being purchased for $440,000 at last month’s Inglis Ready2Race Sale by Inglis’ Japanese representative Satomi Oka and Kazufumi Daicho.

Inglis Banner Success Continued Lindsay Park’s Strong Record

Co-trainer Ben Hayes expressed confidence in Soldi’s chances before the race and was pleased with her performance. The victory marked Lindsay Park’s third Inglis Banner success in five years, following Bold Bastille in 2023 and Arkansaw Kid in 2022.

Hayes credited part-owner John O’Neill for helping secure the filly at the Premier Yearling Sale, explaining that the stable had initially worked with a budget of $250,000.

He also praised Soldi’s early-running potential, noting that she had been among the stable’s favourite fillies at the sale.

Part-owner Ben Wilson, who had also held a share in Bold Bastille, described winning during Melbourne Cup Week as a major highlight. He also praised the Inglis Race Series for its prizemoney and incentives.

The Inglis Pink Bonus was also contested in the race for eligible horses with at least 75 per cent female ownership. Miss Ruthless, trained by Richard and Will Freedman, finished fourth as the first eligible runner home and earned her connections an additional $20,000.

Before the race, UK media personality Frankie Foster judged the Best Turned Out award. Steel Point, trained by Liam Birchley, received the recognition, earning strapper Alice Barnett a $500 prize.

The next race in the Inglis Race Series will be the Inglis Nursery at Randwick on December 12.

Soldi preserved her unbeaten record with a three-length Inglis Banner victory at Flemington, giving Lindsay Park its third win in the race in five years.
