Warwick Racecourse is all set to host a thrilling race day on May 5, 2025, featuring six competitive races and a full slate of family entertainment. This Bank Holiday Monday promises a fun-filled outing for racing enthusiasts and families alike, with gates opening at 11:35 AM. The atmosphere will be lively with picnics, engaging activities, and of course, the exciting races.
The first event of the day, The Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, kicks off at 14:05, spanning a 2m 5f track. Following this, the crowd will be treated to The Welcombe Hills Vineyard Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) at 14:40, run over 2 miles.
The action heats up with the Lewis Badges 1832 Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) at 15:15, a 2m 4f chase that will put the horses’ stamina and jumping skills to the test. At 15:50, the RacingTV.com Novice Handicap Chase continues the excitement over another 2m 4f course.
The penultimate race, the Mares’ Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) at 16:25, is a 2-mile sprint promising emerging talent and close finishes. The day concludes with the Visit RacingTV.com Novices’ Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) at 17:00, also run over 2 miles, wrapping up a dynamic racing schedule.
But the event isn’t just about the races. Warwick Racecourse will transform into a vibrant festival space, offering center course picnics, interactive family zones, and charity support initiatives. Special attention has been given to children’s entertainment. Kids under 5 can enjoy inflatable play zones featuring bouncy castles, a mega slide, and a wipeout arena.
Adding to the family fun, comedy entertainers will be stationed on both sides of the course, along with the ever-popular bubble show, making its third consecutive appearance. A craft tent will again offer children the chance to get creative—last year’s giant plate squids were a hit, and this year’s mystery theme promises more surprises.
Circus skills workshops will be run by entertainers during their breaks, and children aged 6 and above can participate in 10-minute gaming sessions throughout the day at the Paddock Pavilion. New in 2025, the Outdoor Silent Disco will offer music and fun between races, joined by energetic hula-hoop shows.
While fun takes center stage, Warwick Racecourse also shines a light on community giving. Warwickshire and Solihull Blood Bikes and other local charities will be present to raise funds and awareness for their causes.
