Silver Strike produced a determined performance to win The Truefitt & Hill Trophy at Pune Racecourse, hosted by the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC), on Saturday, October 10, 2026, prevailing by the narrowest of margins in Race 2 of the Pune Racecourse Meeting 2026, Tenth Day. Ridden by S. Siddharth and trained by Faisal A. Abbas, the winner represented Mrs Seema Kamlesh Shah and Tasneem Hakim Lakdawala, covering the 1,000-metre sprint in 0:58.105.
The 2:30 PM contest was decided by just 0.014 seconds, with Silver Strike holding off Moonlight Kiss in a finish that demanded a close examination of the clock. The winner maintained enough speed through the closing stages to reach the post just ahead of the runner-up, securing an important victory in one of the day’s closely fought races at Pune Racecourse.
Silver Strike Wins The Truefitt & Hill Trophy in a Close Finish
Moonlight Kiss, partnered by A. Sandesh and trained by Narendra Lagad, finished second in 0:58:119 after coming within a fraction of the winner. Believe, ridden by K. Pranil and trained by S. Waheed, took third place in 0:58:618 to complete the top three.
The result added another talking point to the Pune Racecourse Meeting, where the day’s contests continued to test the speed and consistency of the runners. Silver Strike’s narrow success highlighted how little separated the first two finishers over the straight 1000-metre distance.
Attention now turns to Race 3, The Conrad Pune Trophy, scheduled for 3:00 PM at Pune Racecourse, as the tenth day of the 2026 meeting continues.
