It was a landmark moment at the Bangalore Turf Club as Sicyon etched its name in the record books by winning the Elite Force Plate, the first-ever race held over 1300 meters in the club’s storied history. The sixth race of the day not only delivered thrilling action but also marked a new era in BTC’s racing calendar.
Run for horses rated 20 to 45, the Elite Force Plate carried a purse of Rs. 5,10,000, with Sicyon claiming the winner’s share in impressive style. Under the skilled hands of jockey A. Sandesh and trained by S.S. Attaollahi, Sicyon made a bold move turning for home and quickened away from the field to record a historic win. With no previous track record at this distance, the colt now holds the distinction of being the first-ever BTC 1300-meter winner.
Finishing second was the consistent Silicon Star, ridden by K. Sai Kiran and trained by Warren Singh. The gelding stayed on resolutely but could not match the late dash of the winner.
Perfect Attitude, piloted by Antony Raj S. and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, completed the top three, delivering another solid effort in this competitive field.
The addition of the 1300-meter race was received with great enthusiasm by racegoers, adding a fresh challenge for trainers and jockeys alike and showcasing the versatility of the course and the talent on offer.
With six races now completed, BTC’s Sunday meeting has been one for the books. All eyes now turn to the final event — The Aureole Time Plate, a 1200-meter contest for horses rated 00 to 25. Stay connected to read about the thrilling finale of the day!
