The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) returns to Shanghai from May 2 to 4, 2025, transforming the city not just into a venue, but a visionary hub for global equestrian sport.

Staged at the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Centre in the Expo Cultural Park, this leg of the Tour blends top-tier show jumping action with a cultural and educational experience unlike any other. Now in its second consecutive year at the venue, Shanghai’s commitment to equestrian development goes far beyond competition. The facility features world-class stabling, veterinary support, live broadcasting systems, and a horse art gallery and academy—making it one of the most immersive venues on the LGCT calendar.

While the world’s top riders return to compete—including Gilles Thomas, Henrik von Eckermann, and Edwina Tops-Alexander—the city’s broader mission is what stands out. With public engagement, equine education, and cultural programming woven into the event’s fabric, Shanghai is carving out a long-term role as a global equestrian powerhouse.

At the opening press conference, Tour officials and city partners praised Shanghai’s unique approach—merging international standards with local character to produce an event that is as meaningful as it is competitive.

Fans can tune in via GCTV for comprehensive coverage, but what’s happening in Shanghai goes deeper than sport. It’s a city laying down foundations—not just for future champions, but for an enduring equestrian legacy in Asia.
