The Sha Tin Race Results 4 January confirmed a high-quality afternoon of racing, as an 11-race programme unfolded at Sha Tin with competitive handicaps across sprint, middle-distance, and mile events. The meeting delivered consistent performances from leading stables and riders, highlighted by a sharp display in the feature sprint.

Race 1, the Tai Lam Handicap over 1400 metres, set the tone as THE CONCENTRATION delivered a composed performance under M Guyon for trainer P F Yiu, stopping the clock at 1:22.03 in the HK$875,000 opener. Speed dominated Race 2, the Tsam Chuk Wan Handicap, where SIGHT HERMOSO showed early dash to score over 1000 metres in 0:56.87, providing trainer J Size with the first of two successes on the card.

The pair of 1200-metre Tai Mong Tsai Handicaps produced decisive winners. BRIGHT MORTAR claimed Race 3 in 1:08.84 for trainer A S Cruz, while SUPREME SEA went quicker in Race 4, recording 1:08.38 under Luke Hewitson for Mark Newnham. The Broadwood Handicap followed at 1400 metres, with GALLANT EPOCH finishing strongly to land the prize in 1:21.36 for K W Lui.

Mid-card honours in the Po Leung Kuk Cup (Handicap) went to POSITIVE SMILE, who delivered a controlled performance over 1400 metres in 1:21.54, ridden by M L Yeung for David Hayes. The tempo lifted again in Race 7, the Leighton Handicap over the mile, as SAGACIOUS LIFE asserted authority to win in 1:34.09, giving Zac Purton a notable success for P C Ng.

The afternoon’s highlight came in Race 8, the Bauhinia Sprint Trophy (Handicap), where STELLAR EXPRESS produced a commanding display over 1000 metres. Ridden by Andrea Atzeni and trained by John Size, the winner stopped the clock at a sharp 0:55.85 to secure the HK$4.2 million feature.

The closing stages of the card maintained depth and competitiveness. VICTORY SKY claimed the Tai Tong Shan Handicap over 1200 metres in 1:07.87 for Zac Purton and P F Yiu, before LOYAL BRIGHT captured the Pak Tam Chung Handicap in 1:09.06 under K C Leung. The programme concluded with the Tai Tong Handicap over 1600 metres, where LOVERO stayed on resolutely to win in 1:34.63 for Harry Bentley and Brett Crawford.

Across the meeting, multiple riders and trainers recorded standout efforts, underlining the depth of form on display and providing clear reference points for upcoming fixtures.
