Following the excitement of the BTC Charitable Trust Trophy, the momentum continued at the Bangalore Turf Club with the fifth race of the day—The Welcome Plate—a competitive event for horses rated 20 to 45, held over 1400 meters. With a total prize purse of Rs. 5,10,000, the contest featured a well-matched field, but it was SEE THE LIGHT who stole the spotlight with a polished performance.
Trained by S.S. Attaollahi and ridden expertly by P. Trevor, See The Light surged ahead in the final 300 meters to clinch victory in 1:31.72 and cap off a memorable double for the top jockey, who had earlier guided Ziva to success in the International Labour Day Trophy. Clocking a smooth run, Trevor once again showcased his tactical brilliance and calm under pressure, cementing his stature as one of the day’s standout performers.
Taking second place was MONTERIO, partnered by jockey Darshan N and trained by Pradeep Annaiah. Monterio made a spirited bid in 1:31.86 but had to settle for the runner-up position after being outpaced in the final strides.
Finishing third was ADELANTO, ridden by Koshi Kumar and trained by G. Y. Rajesh Babu, who showed promise with a steady run by taking 1:32.09 to round off the top three.
With two victories on the card already under his belt, P. Trevor emerged as the man of the moment, and fans at BTC were treated to a brilliant afternoon of quality racing.
As the day progressed with action-packed events, anticipation now builds for the next scheduled contest—The Racing Patrons Plate—as the Bangalore Summer Meeting continues to captivate racegoers.
