Racing fans will see Scotland Yard (USA) back in action this Saturday (22 November, 2025) at King Abdulaziz Racecourse. The Tuwaiq Cup winner will make his eagerly-awaited comeback after his commanding performance during The Saudi Cup weekend, where he won by over five lengths.

The six-year-old, ridden by champion jockey Adel Alfouraidi, will compete against 15 rivals in the SAR120,000 sixth race over 1800m. He will aim to continue his strong form after winning three of four outings last season and finishing eighth in the 2024 renewal of The Saudi Cup. His main competition is expected to come from Bolide Porto (IRE) of the White Stable and The King’s General (IRE), trained by Humoud Mufarrej.

Friday’s UAE President Cup, staged as race 10, will offer SAR1.5 million for Purebred Arabian Horses, with a full field of 20 runners. Najeeb Alzaman (FR), trained by Abdulaziz Almosa, will top the ratings. The six-year-old will look to add to his nine wins from 14 starts and build on his third-place finish to Asfan Al Khalediah (KSA) in the 2024 Group 1 Obaiyah Arabian Classic.

Other contenders will include Nadem Al Molwk Al Khalediah (KSA), winner of three of four career starts but last seen in December 2023, and Mutwakel Alkhalediah (KSA), who will make his second outing since September 2023. The mare Bint Ghaliat Al Khalediah (KSA), who won twice in Taif this summer and chased home Tilal Al Khalediah (KSA), will be ridden by Fahad Alfouraidi.

Saturday’s first race, a 1200m SAR120,000 open, will feature Baseqm And Bake (USA) and Jade De Faust (FR), renewing their rivalry after finishing first and second on September 26. The SAR150,000 Sultan Raei Algudah Cup for two-year-olds will see the White Stable duo Galb Alraad (USA) and Walad (USA) take on Anquod (GB) from the Red Stable.

Friday’s domestic Group 3 action will include the SAR165,000 Ministry of Interior Cup, with eleven runners. Yaroa (KSA) will look to bounce back after finishing third in the Africa Cup last month. The 1800m race for three-year-olds will feature seven runners, led by Badr Alsamawi (KSA), making his first run since taking third in the Saudi Derby behind Golden Vekoma (USA).

This weekend at King Abdulaziz Racecourse will showcase top-class Purebred Arabian and international racing, with Scotland Yard’s return set to be the highlight.
