The racing at King Abdulaziz Racecourse will stage a full twelve-race evening on Thursday as Meeting 66 of the Riyadh Racing Season takes place under lights in the Saudi capital. The Saudi Arabia Race Cards 29 January will present a structured programme combining local-bred handicaps, maiden contests, Arabian races, and two high-value auction-restricted events, with distances ranging from 1,200 metres to 2,400 metres.
The evening will begin at 3:35pm with Race 1 – Local Bred Handicap (0–60) over 1,200 metres for three-year-old colts, carrying prize money of SAR 65,000. The opening sprint will feature Aldor Alnafis, Ghoseinah, Kanz Alnokhbah, and Alrooz Alahmr as the card gets underway.
At 4:00pm, Race 2 – Local Bred Fillies and Mares will be run over 1,200 metres for four-year-olds and upwards, offering SAR 50,000. Abeyyah, Ana Monefah, Ganabi, and Lae Oyoun Masha’el are set to contest the second event of the programme.
The schedule will continue at 4:25pm with Race 3 – Local Bred Handicap (0–65) over 1,200 metres for four-year-olds and older. Worth SAR 75,000, the race is expected to include Lama Alzulfi, Alfraim, Ibn Alreeb, and Mitoleya.
At 4:55pm, Race 4 – Local Bred Fillies Maiden will bring together three-year-olds over 1,400 metres. The SAR 40,000 contest is set to feature Alsheikhah Fawziah, Dkturh Bassmah, Dnoo, and Fadiat’hum.
Arabian horses will take centre stage at 5:20pm in Race 5 – Arabian Horses Open, a 1,400-metre event for three-year-olds offering SAR 85,000. Afdal Mourtajez, Albaaej, Almuzdaher Albarri, and Ashjaa Alsayed are among the expected runners.
One of the principal highlights of the evening will follow at 5:50pm with Race 6 – Fillies Sold at Auction 2024, sponsored by JCSA. The 1,400-metre contest for three-year-olds will carry a substantial purse of SAR 650,000, with Salat Suyof, Durrat Alzmaan, Tmady, and Tolfit set to line up.
At 6:20pm, Race 7 – Colts and Geldings Sold at Auction 2024, also sponsored by JCSA, will be contested over 1,600 metres. Another SAR 650,000 will be on offer as Darbi, Abo Saeed, Aessr Almajd, and Aljamih feature in the high-value event.
The programme will resume at 6:50pm with Race 8 – Arabian Fillies and Mares Maiden over 2,000 metres for four-year-olds and upwards. Prize money of SAR 40,000 will be available, with Alddhoha Almuntakhaba, E.S. Marayah, Hadjire, and Hanouf Alshahaib entered.
At 7:20pm, Race 9 – Local Bred Maiden will be run over 1,600 metres for four-year-olds, carrying SAR 40,000. Aeraab Almajd, Alashqari, Albaajey, and Alzahem are set to contest the race.
The Race 10 – Jockey of Education Cup will be staged at 7:45pm as, a 1,200-metre contest for four-year-olds and older worth SAR 150,000. Abo Khalaf, Alrashdy, Ayfa’a, and Baybay are expected to headline the field.
At 8:10pm, Race 11 – Local Bred Handicap (0–65) will be run over 1,600 metres for four-year-olds and upwards, with SAR 75,000 on offer. The race is set to include Ahmady, Bahr Alenaya, Matahil, and Mezn Alsahaab.
The card will conclude at 8:40pm with Race 12 – Local Bred Handicap (0–65) over 2,400 metres. The staying contest for four-year-olds and older will also carry prize money of SAR 75,000, with Fayzat Sarah, Ibn Mefleh, Alseif Alda’yem, and Sabeel Alkheir closing the programme.
