On the turf, Allowance at 1 1/16 miles for $110,000 saw Big Beautiful (IRE) with Javier Castellano in command for trainer Anthony W. Dutrow, defeating Wrigleyville and Louise Procter (FR).
The Spendthrift Hopeful Stakes (G1) for two-year-olds at seven furlongs on fast dirt brought stakes-class excitement. John R. Velazquez rode Ted Noffey for trainer Todd A. Pletcher to victory, with Buetane and Curtain Call completing the top three.
In the Saranac Stakes at 1 1/16 miles on firm turf and $135,000 in prize money, Stars and Strides, under Junior Alvarado for trainer William I. Mott, surged past Magic Pathway and Asbury Park (GB).
The closing race, Maiden Special Weight at one mile on firm turf for $100,000, saw Say Yes To Dreams (IRE) cross first under Flavien Prat for trainer Chad C.
