Sapporo made a memorable debut by clinching the third race of Bangalore Summer Meeting Day 11 — The International Day of Yoga Plate (Division I) — held on Saturday, June 21st, 2025. This 1200-meter maiden race for three-year-olds offered a total prize purse of ₹11,00,000 and showcased emerging juvenile talent.
Guided with confidence by Arvind Kumar N., trained by Irfan Ghatala quickened impressively in the straight to land his first career win by clocking at 1:14.40. Representing connections Ms. Rapar Galloping Stars LLP, Sapporo displayed good gate speed and settled well before accelerating powerfully past the front-runners.
Challenging late but falling short was Aces Up, ridden by A.R. Pradeep and trained by Warren Singh, who had to settle for second place after finishing at 1:14.72.
Ilia, partnered by Antony Raj S. and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, produced a staying-on effort to claim third, rounding out the placings in this competitive maiden event with a time of 1:14.74.
The race marked the second running of the International Day of Yoga Plate on the card, and both divisions offered a glimpse of promising newcomers in the juvenile ranks. With three races concluded, focus now turns to the day’s fourth contest — The Sir M. Visvesvaraya Memorial Cup, a highly anticipated event in the afternoon lineup.
