Day 3 of the Mysore Summer Races 2025 got underway on June 11 with The Bidadi Plate, a handicap for horses rated 20 to 45. Held over a distance of 1600 meters and offering a total prize purse of ₹4,50,000, the race served as the perfect curtain-raiser to what promised to be an exciting day of racing at the Mysore Race Club.
The race was won in decisive fashion by SAPIENT, who delivered a clinical performance under jockey Vinod Shinde. Trained by J.S. Pillay, the winner settled into a comfortable rhythm early on and produced a strong finishing run in the final stages to stop the clock at 1:39.730, comfortably claiming the top spot and the winner’s share of ₹2,25,000.
Finishing second was CLYDE STAR, ridden by Hasib Alam and trained by K. Aditya. The gelding ran a spirited race, staying close to the leader for most of the trip, but had to settle for the runner-up spot with a timing of 1:41.165.
BROCSTON, trained by Rakesh and ridden by Siddaraju P., completed the frame in third, putting in a commendable effort to clock 1:41.382 in a closely fought finish.
The Bidadi Plate kicked off the day’s card in style, offering a well-contested race that highlighted both strategy and stamina. With the opening act wrapped up, all eyes now turn to the second race of the afternoon — The Arakalgudu Plate, a maiden event that promises another thrilling chapter in this summer’s racing calendar.
