Under competitive conditions on Tuesday, 9 June, Salisbury Racecourse conducted a seven-race fixture that showcased talent across multiple divisions. The afternoon featured several impressive winning performances and included a notable riding double for Rossa Ryan, while a mixture of novice races, maiden contests and handicaps provided a varied programme throughout the meeting.
Setting the standard from the outset, the opening division of the Clive Cox Racing EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (Class 5) was won by Undiscovered, who delivered a polished performance over the mile trip. Trained by Ralph Beckett and ridden by Rossa Ryan for RaceShare & Ballylinch Stud, the winner completed the distance in 1m 19.15s. Green Titan finished second, while Lord of Winterfell filled third place.

Maintaining the momentum in the following contest, the second division of the Clive Cox Racing EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (Class 5) went to Flying Pirate, who provided trainer Eve Johnson Houghton and jockey Charles Bishop with success. Representing owners J Allison & G C Stevens, the winner recorded a time of 1m 17.82s. Harry Knows chased home in second, while Aphra Behn completed the placings in third.
Adding further distinction to the afternoon’s proceedings, Rossa Ryan secured his second victory of the meeting aboard Supreme King in the Remembering Jane Samuels Handicap Stakes (Class 5). Trained by David Evans and owned by Stuart Banks & David Evans, the gelding stopped the clock in 1m 17.18s. Arantes Nascimento finished runner-up, with Distant Rumble taking third.
A polished display then highlighted the novice ranks as Lucky Luna captured the Danny McNab Novice Stakes (Class 4). Trained by Richard Hannon and partnered by Sean Levey for RC Syndicate IV, the winner covered the distance in 1m 32.79s. Siddal finished second and Sapphire Secret claimed third.
Stepping into the spotlight over the staying trip, Besieged produced a determined effort to land the Kingsclere Racing Club Maiden Stakes (Class 3). Trained by Harry Charlton and ridden by Lewis Edmunds for Al Shaqab Racing & Rockcliffe Stud, the winner recorded a time of 2m 13.96s. Easwrith Destiny finished second, while Poor Relation occupied third place.
The fillies’ event provided another noteworthy performance as Regal Charm claimed the Everywhen Margadale Fillies’ Handicap Stakes (Class 4). Representing trainer Henry Candy and owner Mr T. A. F. Frost, the filly was guided to victory by Rob Hornby in 2m 14.18s. Royal Poetry finished second, with Affection taking third.
Bringing the meeting to its conclusion, the Charter 1227 Catering Handicap Stakes (Class 6) was won by Maid In Devon, giving Oisin Murphy a success on the card. Trained by Rod Millman for the Horniwinks Racing Syndicate, the winner clocked 1m 17.83s. Madman finished second, while Stock Market completed the top three.
The meeting featured seven races and produced victories for Undiscovered, Flying Pirate, Supreme King, Lucky Luna, Besieged, Regal Charm and Maid In Devon. Rossa Ryan’s riding double proved one of the principal achievements of the afternoon, while several winners enhanced their credentials with authoritative performances on the Salisbury card.
