Rock Bank Powers Home in Varanasi Plate at Mysore Race Club
Continuing a vibrant afternoon of racing on Mysore Summer Races 2025 Day 11, the third contest on the card, The Varanasi Plate, delivered a test of stamina and class over a demanding 2000 meters for horses rated 60 and above.
The spotlight belonged to Rock Bank, who produced a commanding performance under P. Trevor, guiding the bay gelding to a fluent victory for trainer Prasanna Kumar P in 2:05.104. The win marked a strong statement of form for the ownership team of M/s. K. Kaliyaperumal, Ashok Ranpise & Meka Yugandhar, as Rock Bank handled the longer trip with authority.
Despite a strong late effort, Magnetic, ridden by S. Antony Raj for trainer Darius R. Byramji, had to settle for second in 2:06.336. The close third place went to Key To The Mint, piloted by S. Imran and trained by Saddam Iqbal, who stopped the clock at 2:06.380, just a breath behind.
As the afternoon unfolded under warm skies at Mysore Race Club, this race added depth and variety to a card already full of speed and surprises. With three races down, anticipation now builds for the next event, The Ashwajaya Plate.
