Bangalore, June 22 – The curtains came down on a thrilling day of racing at Bangalore Turf Club with Rock Bank claiming a well-deserved victory in The Borsalino Plate, the eighth and final race of the day. This 1600-meter handicap for horses rated 40 to 65 offered a prize purse of Rs.6,30,000 and delivered a fitting finale to Day 12 of the summer meeting.
Trained by Prasanna Kumar and ridden with poise by Akshay Kumar, Rock Bank secured the win for the ownership team comprising Mr. K. Kaliyaperumal, Mr. Ashok Ranpise, and Mr. Meka Yugandhar. The gelding hit the front approaching the final meters in 1:37.32 and maintained his advantage to score convincingly.
Stablemate, Live The Dream gave the yard a one-two finish, finishing second under Mustakim Alam, also trained by Prasanna Kumar. The consistent filly ran on gamely but was unable to reel in his stablemate in the final strides as she timed at 1:37.45.
Inspire, partnered by Antony Raj S. and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, rounded off the top three with a solid performance, staying on steadily through the stretch to secure a placing by clocking at 1:37.48.
With all eight races of the card now completed, racegoers were treated to a day of closely fought finishes, rising stars, and strong riding performances. Attention now shifts to the next race day at Bangalore Turf Club, scheduled for June 28, 2025, promising another afternoon of exhilarating action.
