The 6:15 PM contest, The Traditional Family Day Sunday 17th May Handicap Stakes over one mile and 12 yards, saw Masaban (IRE) deliver a composed display under Callum Rodriguez. The race developed into a tactical affair with several runners remaining closely grouped for much of the journey. Rodriguez kept Masaban settled in midfield before making steady headway approaching the final bend. The pairing produced a sustained run in the home straight and held off late challengers to register a determined victory in the Class 6 handicap. Sprint specialists took centre stage in the 6:45 PM Dr Keith Howard OBE Memorial Handicap Stakes over five furlongs. Vince L’Amour (IRE), partnered by David Allan, demonstrated excellent early speed and never allowed rivals to settle comfortably. Breaking sharply from the stalls, the runner quickly established a prominent position near the pace and maintained momentum throughout the fast-run contest. The quality remained high in the 7:15 PM Sam Alexander Memorial Handicap Stakes over six furlongs, where U Sure Do (IRE) produced one of the standout performances of the evening under Cam Hardie. Racing prominently from the outset, the gelding looked comfortable with the pace and travelled powerfully throughout the contest. Hardie timed his challenge effectively and asked for maximum effort entering the final furlong. U Sure Do responded with an impressive turn of foot to move clear and claim victory in convincing fashion. At 7:45 PM, attention turned to The Napoleons Casino and Restaurant Leeds Handicap Stakes over one mile, one furlong, and 182 yards. Star Cast emerged victorious after a patient and well-executed ride from Rowan Scott. The race featured several runners attempting to challenge from off the pace, but Star Cast displayed excellent balance and composure throughout. Scott gradually improved position approaching the straight before delivering a strong finishing run inside the final two furlongs. The evening concluded with The Ripon Races Ladies Day 18th June Handicap Stakes at 8:15 PM, another contest over one mile, one furlong, and 182 yards. Vietnorm (IRE), ridden by Barry McHugh, ended the meeting in impressive fashion with a determined display. Settled comfortably during the early stages, Vietnorm travelled smoothly behind the leading group before making significant progress entering the closing stages. McHugh produced the horse at exactly the right moment, and the pair surged forward inside the final furlong to capture the Class 6 event. The victory ensured the meeting ended on a competitive and entertaining note for spectators who remained until the final race.
