The fourth day of the Mysore (Monsoon) Races 2025 opened with an engaging contest as Race 1 — The Paddock Plate, a Class V race for horses rated 00 to 25 over 1400 metres, unfolded on Friday, 12 September 2025. In a spirited finish, Rich Strike (J: A. Ayaz Khan, T: S. Ashwin Rao) stormed home to seize victory in 1:25.726, carrying the silks of M/s K. Rakesh Raje Urs & P. Packiasamy to a well-earned win.
Breaking alertly from the gates, Rich Strike settled just off the early pace, conserving energy as the field strung out along the backstretch. Approaching the final bend, A. Ayaz Khan asked his mount to quicken, and Rich Strike responded with purpose—slicing through rivals before producing a decisive burst in the last 150 metres to collar the leaders and pull clear in the final strides.
Warrior Woman (J: Antony Raj S., T: Rakesh) made a bold bid and kept the favourite honest throughout, finishing a close second in 1:25.795 after leading for much of the run-in. Pette’s Choice (J: Prabhu Kumar M, T: Vishal Yadav) stayed on gamely to claim third in 1:26.186, rounding out a competitive trifecta that underscored the race’s even field.
With the curtain lifted on the day’s card, all eyes now turn to Race 2 — The Secunderabad Plate at 03:00 PM, as the action at Mysore continues to build toward the afternoon’s feature events.
