G1-winning sprinter Reserve Bank has been sold through the inaugural Inglis Bull Ring auction, with Botty’s Bloodstock securing the talented three-year-old as he prepares to embark on the next chapter of his career as a stallion prospect.

The purchase brings the racing career of Reserve Bank into sharp focus once again, with the accomplished sprinter set to transition from the racetrack to a future role at stud following his latest change of ownership.

Aaron Bott expressed his enthusiasm after securing the son of Capitalist, describing him as a rare talent whose racecourse achievements and pedigree made him an attractive acquisition.

“I thought it was a great opportunity to secure a horse of his calibre,” Bott said.

“Reserve Bank was an outstanding racehorse with genuine top-class speed and was a G1 winner at three in open company, which is a rare accomplishment.

“He possesses an impressive physique and is a grandson of influential sires Written Tycoon and Fastnet Rock.

“I can’t disclose the plans for his immediate future, but we’re just thrilled to have secured him and excited for his future at stud.”

Reserve Bank established himself among the leading sprinters of his generation with elite-level success at three, enhancing his appeal as a future stallion. His combination of speed, durability and a pedigree featuring some of Australasia’s most influential bloodlines has long marked him as a horse with significant commercial appeal beyond racing.

The sale was conducted through the newly launched Bull Ring platform, a private auction initiative designed to facilitate transactions involving high-profile bloodstock while maintaining discretion for interested parties.

Co-trainer Michael Kent Jnr praised the process, revealing that interest in Reserve Bank was widespread throughout the breeding industry.

“There wasn’t one stallion master that wasn’t aware that Reserve Bank was going through the Bull Ring, which is a fantastic and unique concept combining transparency and confidentiality, two of the most important factors when facilitating sensitive stud deals,” Kent said.

“Everyone who needed to be contacted was engaged directly by the bloodstock team, leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of the best possible outcome.

“I think the whole process was brilliant. The digital reach was unmatched.

“From our perspective it was a beautifully seamless process. The marketing was outstanding and we’re delighted with the result.

“Offering a prospective stallion through the platform also opened our eyes to potential buyers that we may never have otherwise reached, which is a great example of the exposure provided by the digital team.”

The successful transaction also represented an important milestone for the new auction platform. Business Manager Nick Melmeth said Reserve Bank attracted strong interest from both domestic and international buyers, with multiple parties competing for the accomplished sprinter.

“Reserve Bank attracted significant interest from both domestic and international parties, with multiple bidders on the horse, which is reassuring as it shows that the process of marketing the horse in this way was very effective,” Melmeth said.

“Ultimately our job is to connect quality stock with the right buyers and we’re very pleased to have achieved that outcome here.

“The feedback we’ve received from participants throughout the process has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re excited about the opportunities the Bull Ring can create going forward.”

While plans for Reserve Bank’s immediate future remain under wraps, his acquisition ensures that one of Australia’s most accomplished young sprinters will soon begin the next stage of a career that connections hope will prove just as influential in the breeding barn as it was on the racetrack.
