Remember the Time wins by 8¼ lengths at Gulfstream Park under jockey Micah Husbands

Remember the Time produced an impressive performance at Gulfstream Park on Sunday, October 25, 2026, breaking maiden in commanding fashion with an 8¼-length victory in a one-mile turf contest for two-year-olds.

Owned by Tagermeen Racing LLC and trained by Saffie Joseph Jr., Remember the Time showed both natural speed and considerable promise, settling comfortably in front before pulling clear in the closing stages. Ridden by Micah Husbands, the colt completed the maiden special weight contest in 1:35.50 over a turf course rated good.

The victory marked a significant step forward for the promising runner, who had finished second on debut at Kentucky Downs on September 9. His latest performance suggested that the experience gained from that first outing had made a considerable difference.

Remember the Time Dominates at Gulfstream Park

Remember the Time was among nine juveniles lining up for Race 6, with expectations high following his encouraging debut. The $400,000 purchase at the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale had shown ability in his first appearance, and Sunday offered an opportunity to build on that effort.

Under Husbands, the colt quickly established control and maintained a comfortable rhythm through the opening stages. He recorded fractions of 23.89 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 48.11 seconds for the first half-mile, travelling comfortably while his jockey kept him under restraint.

Once asked to extend his stride, Remember the Time responded immediately. The colt accelerated through the stretch, leaving his rivals struggling to keep pace before crossing the finish line 8¼ lengths clear.

Colonel Duke, who had finished third and second in his previous two starts at Gulfstream Park, came from midfield to secure second place. Flood Plan, making a career debut, finished third, a further 3¼ lengths behind the runner-up.

Promising Progress After Kentucky Downs Debut

The performance followed an encouraging introduction to racing at Kentucky Downs, where Remember the Time had taken the lead in the stretch before finishing a length behind Merlin Monroan, trained by Michael Maker.

Merlin Monroan subsequently returned to win a turf allowance race at Keeneland, adding further context to the form of Remember the Time’s debut effort.

Assistant trainer Sabine Langvad, who saddled the colt in Joseph’s absence, was pleased with the progress shown between the two starts. Joseph was in Kentucky preparing for the upcoming Breeders’ Cup meeting at Keeneland.

Langvad explained that the first outing had provided valuable experience, particularly after the colt stumbled early before recovering to produce a strong finish. That initial performance had encouraged the stable, and the latest victory offered further evidence of his potential.

Husbands was given a straightforward instruction: allow the colt’s ability to speak for itself. The resulting performance demonstrated the effectiveness of that approach, with Remember the Time travelling comfortably before producing a decisive turn of foot when asked.

Pedigree Adds to Remember the Time’s Appeal

Remember the Time is by Not This Time and out of Amuse, a daughter of Medaglia d’Oro who has earned multiple graded stakes placings. His pedigree provides an encouraging foundation as he continues his development on the turf.

Sunday’s emphatic success at Gulfstream Park was his first career victory, but the manner in which he achieved it made the performance particularly noteworthy. He showed early pace, settled efficiently through the middle stages and finished with enough authority to establish a substantial winning margin.

With two starts now behind him, Remember the Time has made a promising start to his racing career. His latest display will give the Tagermeen Racing LLC ownership team and Joseph’s stable plenty of encouragement as they consider the colt’s next assignment.
