The Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) is set to host the final race day of the summer season on April 4th 2025, featuring seven thrilling races. The racing action at RCTC will resume in July with another exciting season. The highlight will be made by the Police Cup giving away, Rs.5,50,000 and a cup valued Rs.25,000. The race day will begin with the Snow Forest Handicap, at 2:30 pm and will conclude with the Angeles Handicap at 5:30 pm.
The Police Cup, a 1200-meter race and the sixth race of the day at 5:00 pm, is going to gather attention as it carries the highest prize money of day, Rs.5,50,000 along with a cup that is valued for Rs.25,000. The eight horses will try to achieve the winner tag and go home with Rs.3,02,500 and a cup. LA DOMINATE, set to be ridden by jockey Suraj Narredu and trained by B Mahesh, is a 5-year-old dark bay horse sired by Dali (USA) out of Lucy In The Sky. RODRIGO, to be guided by jockey Shezad Khan and trained by BR Reddy, is a 7-year-old chestnut gelding by Roderic O’Connor (IRE) out of Ray Of Light. ROMAN SPIRIT, scheduled to be partnered with jockey P Trevor and trained by Patrick Quinn, is a 5-year-old bay horse by Gusto (GB) out of Romany Spirit (IRE). SIR BAFFERT, set to race under jockey Imran Chisty and trained by Rutherford Alford, is an 8-year-old dark bay gelding by Knight’s Tour (AUS) out of Berry Girl (USA). CASHA, with jockey Hindu Singh in the saddle and trained by Patrick Quinn, is a 4-year-old bay filly, formerly known as Mumtaz, sired by Admiralty out of Maisha. SUPERLATIVE, to be ridden by jockey M D Sameer and trained by Shafiq Khan, is a 6-year-old dark bay gelding by Roderic O’Connor (IRE) out of She Is Special. DR DOOM, set to be steered by jockey R Vaibhav and trained by Javed Khan, is a 6-year-old bay gelding by Perfect Stride (GB) out of Top Romance. KAY STAR, prepared to run under jockey R Ajinkya and trained by Rutherford Alford, is a 6-year-old bay gelding by Roderic O’Connor (IRE) out of Star Goddess.
The day will begin at 2:30 pm with the Snow Forest Handicap, a 1200-meter race carries total prize purse of Rs. 3,00,000 and winner taking away Rs.1,65,000. The second race of the day, the Cradle of the Deep Handicap, a1200-meter race, is scheduled to happen at 3:00 pm with five horses, competing for the winner tag priced Rs.2,75,000 and the total stakes of Rs.5,00,000. The third race of the day, the Toroloco Cup, a 1400-meter race carries total prize money of Rs.3,00,000 with the winner getting Rs.1,65,000 with a cup valued Rs.20,000.
