Raise A Buck wins Mysore’s The Shivajinagar Plate 

Raise A Buck, guided by jockey Anil Baandal, crosses the finish line just ahead of Touch Of Grey and Perfect Blend to win the Shivajinagar Plate at Mysore Race Club during Day 8 of the 2025 Summer Races

The penultimate race on Day 8 of the Mysore Summer Races 2025 brought seasoned contenders to the fore in the Shivajinagar Plate, a 1400-meter handicap for horses rated 80 and above. Held at 4:30 pm, the race carried a total prize purse of ₹10,50,000 and lived up to its billing with a nail-biting finish.

Emerging victorious was Raise A Buck, who showcased grit and control under jockey Anil Baandal, timing the finish to perfection in 1:22.109. Trained by Rakesh and owned by Mrs. G. K. Harini and Mr. Rakesh, the winner delivered a composed front-running effort, holding off late pressure from a determined field.

Touch Of Grey, ridden by Aleemuddin and trained by Satish Narredu, finished second in 1:22.245. Representing M/s. Balam Mohla, Anil Saraf, Mrs. Yashika Apana & Mr. Jehangir H. Mehta, the runner-up ran a gallant race and nearly stole the show in the final strides.

Rounding out the top three was Perfect Blend, piloted by L. Alex Rozario for trainer Saddam Iqbal. The horse timed 1:22.481, delivering a steady run for owners Dr. Suresh Bhat, Dr. Asha Bhat, Mrs. Barkha D.Lahori, M/s. S. Ganapathy, S. Shanker Narayanan, Mrs. Marlene Bhat, Dr. Mohd. Javeed Ghatala, M/s. M. Venugopala Reddy & Mr. Anil Saraf.
