The Bangalore Turf Club Cup, the highlight race of the day, saw Raffaello deliver a stellar performance to claim victory in the 1400-meter contest. Ridden by A. Ashhad Asbar and trained by Aashay Doctor, the winner clocked 1:24.610, securing the Rs. 4,12,500 winner’s prize along with the prestigious Rs. 25,000 cup, triumphing at 11/2 odds.
This marked another victory for Aashay Doctor, who had already tasted success earlier in the day with wins in Theogundi Handicap and The Network Handicap.
Finishing second was Flying Scotsman, guided by Hindu Singh and trained by Shyam S. H. The runner-up fought hard but settled for second, completing the race in 1:24.884 at 17/4 odds.
Rounding off the top three was King’s Retreat, ridden by R. Vaibhav and trained by B. R. Reddy. The gelding clocked 1:25.090 at 15/2 odds, marking a second win of the day for jockey R. Vaibhav, who previously triumphed in Theogundi Handicap.
Meanwhile, the tote favorite Stormy Ocean, piloted by Imran Chisty under the training of Rutherford Alford, couldn’t make it to the top three.
