Racing League Wolverhampton 2025: Scotland and East Set for Showdown
Racing League Wolverhampton 2025 arrives with high expectations as the second leg of the team-based competition heads to the all-weather track at Wolverhampton on Thursday, July 31. After an explosive start at Great Yarmouth, both Scotland and The East are looking to shift the momentum their way in this high-stakes showdown.
Scotland, now managed by broadcaster Alex Steedman, sits just two points behind London & The South following a 156-point haul — its highest ever in Racing League history. The effort eclipsed their previous best of 140.5 at Newcastle in 2022 and marks a promising start to their Racing League Wolverhampton 2025 campaign.
“It was an unbelievable start at Great Yarmouth,” said Steedman. “Although I didn’t know what to expect, I fancied Solar Aclaim, Pole Star, and Shajak. Mister Bluebird kicking things off with a win was a huge bonus.”
Looking to continue that momentum at Wolverhampton Racecourse, Steedman believes the surface and settled forecast will help his runners perform: “We were able to finalise our line-up early. Obelix and Tilted Kilt look strong in Race 13, and I’m intrigued by Queen’s Guard in Race 11. Race 10 also looks promising with Charging Thunder and La Pulga.”
Scotland Ready for Racing League Wolverhampton 2025 Test
Scotland’s depth will be tested in this critical week of Racing League Wolverhampton 2025, but their strong form makes them a key player in the standings. Steedman acknowledges the unpredictability of the format but is optimistic: “You can’t be sure in every race, but we’ve got a balanced team and solid chances again.”
The East Aims to Bounce Back in Racing League Wolverhampton 2025
Meanwhile, The East, under new manager Charlie Fellowes, will look to rebound from a winless Great Yarmouth performance. Finishing third on 135 points, The East is aiming for a turnaround at a venue where they scored a five-timer just 12 months ago.
“Technically, Great Yarmouth was our home meeting, so coming away without a winner was frustrating,” said Fellowes. “This week we have a mix of strengths — Willem Twee goes again in Race 11, and I like our chances in Race 13 with Believe The Storm and Mr Swivell.”
Race 14 will also feature key runners such as Fox Avatar and Immediate Effect, trained by Roger Varian and Sir Mark Prescott respectively. Fellowes noted strategic additions to the trainer pool: “We’ve added David Evans, Stan Moore, and Kevin Philippart de Foy with Chepstow in mind.”
