By the end of the night, London & The South narrowly led the pack with 158 points, with Scotland just two points adrift. The East followed in third with 135, while Ireland, despite a lone win, settled in fourth at 90 points. With five rounds to go, the battle lines are already drawn.
Andaleep Shines in Racing League 2025 Victory
One of the most heartwarming moments came from the ever-reliable Andaleep, who secured his long-overdue Racing League win in Race 7. The nine-year-old, trained by Daniel and Claire Kubler, delivered a flawless performance under Richard Kingscote — now the jockey leaderboard leader with 73 points.
“Everyone watching tonight knows Andaleep. He’s a warrior and a credit to Danny and Claire Kubler,” said team manager Matt Chapman. “People thought the favourite had 20lb in hand, but this horse doesn’t read betting slips—he just runs with heart.”
London & The South’s wins didn’t stop there. Fantasy World, from Andrew Balding’s yard, opened the evening with a confident win in Race 1. Jimmy Speaking, guided by 7lb claimer Jack Dace, gave Chris Dwyer’s stable their Racing League moment in Race 3, continuing the team’s strategic depth.
Scotland’s Treble Headlines Racing League 2025 Opener
Newly-appointed team manager Alex Steedman couldn’t have asked for a better start. Scotland’s triple triumph began in Race 4, where Heather Main’s Mister Bluebird gave young apprentice Mason Paetel a memorable birthday victory.
Race 5 went the way of Solar Acclaim for Julie Camacho, while Pole Star, trained by Charlie Johnston, completed the treble. “We had a few apprentices on show tonight and I thought they all rode brilliantly,” said a jubilant Steedman. “James Owen’s support has been immense — and we’ve still got the genius of Jim Goldie to come.”
Racing League 2025 Standings and Stars to Watch
Ireland’s highlight came from Tuco Salamanca in Race 2. Trained by Ollie Sangster and ridden by Billy Loughnane, the six-furlong dash was all class from start to finish. “He’s had a few near misses,” Loughnane admitted. “But the conditions suited him today and it was a lovely performance.”
Elsewhere, The East, Wales & The West, The North, and Yorkshire failed to register a win, despite strategic joker plays by The East (Race 5) and Wales & The West (Race 7), both of which backfired. Loughnane (65 points) and Daniel Muscutt (63) trail Kingscote in the jockey table.
Looking ahead, Round 2 of the Racing League 2025 promises more fireworks as team dynamics evolve and apprentices rise to the occasion. With jokers, transfers, and tactics in play, fans can expect twists throughout the summer series.
